Nursery School
Parents who care
Our nursery school is a non-profit, parent cooperative. Parents take turns providing the daily snack and cleaning the school. They are welcome, but not required, to participate in other classroom activities.
All parents and teachers are involved in decision making. The school is funded by tuition payments and fund-raising.
The success of our school depends on parent participation, so all parents assume the responsibilities of:
- Paying monthly tuition.
- Attending three required parent meetings.
- Joining work bees to keep equipment and facilities in repair, raking leaves, and snow shoveling.
- Cleaning up the school and providing a nutritious snack for the 15 students in the class (a total of seven days per school year).
- Joining a committee, chairing a committee, or joining the nursery school board.
- Participating in fundraising activities to benefit the Ellis Hollow Nursery School and community center. Recent events have included a Halloween party and the silent auction at the Ellis Hollow Fair.
