Nursery School
A typical day
Broadening the child's awareness of the world is an important focus of our program. Show and tell and nature study are integral parts of each week's schedule.
The children embrace the rhythms and routines of our day, and gain confidence and independence through daily activities such as setting up for and serving the snack, and helping tidy the classroom.
In addition, the children go on a few nearby field trips a year. Past trips have included Sapsucker Woods, the Museum of the Earth, the Johnson Museum of Art, a horse riding farm, and the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine.
Classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, during the Ithaca City School District academic year.
